Hi All
I am looking at choosing one of the following hotels for my honeymoon in late July:
Budget option:
1. Imperial Samui (拢45 per person per night)
2. Amari Palm (拢50 per person per night)
Expensive:
3. Bo Phut Resort (拢75 per person per night)
4. Tongsai Bay (拢78 per person per night)
In all honesty, I am looking at one of the budget options. I dont really fancy spending the extra on Bo Phut or Tongsai Bay. I could use the extra cash for excursions and seeing the sights.
Can you please tell me the following:
1. The best budget option (Imperial or Amari?)
2. The best expensive option (Bo Phut or Tongsai?)
3. The overall best option - value for money.
Please consider the location of both resorts.
I dont want to be near a noisy part of the beach. Hence, I dont mind walking (10-15mins) to the shops providing the hotel is in a nice, relaxing area. After all, it is my honeymoon!!
Look forward to your responses
Thanks
DP
Please help me with my hotel - urgent response needed today
Accepting I have not been asked .............I am just incredibly glad I am not marrying you.
Do yourself (and your new wife) a favour and go to a pool villa in Sala Samui - more than your budget, more than you deserve but after visiting you may understand romance, privacy and that spending a bit more money might be an investment for the future........... it is your honeymoon after all.............

Hi there,
Can%26#39;t compare the hotels you%26#39;ve stated but me %26amp; my wife have stayed at the Imperial Samui twice and can very much recommend it. It is just outside the main resort of Chaweng which is about a 15-20 minute stroll away or a two minute tuk tuk ride. The hotel complex is very nice with two pools, one of which is directly next to the beach. Rooms are very nice, though we have always found the standard of rooms to be good in Thailand (we%26#39;ve been 5 times). There are two really good beach bars just along the beach from the hotel. They are good to eat at either lunchtime or evening. If you read the hotel reviews on Tripadvisor most people mention these. Please feel free to email me with any more queries.
PS we%26#39;ve been to Koh Samui (twice), Pattaya, Hua Hin and we just got back from Phuket about 3 weeks ago and Koh Samui is our favourite place.

That first response wasnt very helpful he/she was being a snob in my opinion! If I were you I would definitel go for the amari, i havent been to samui...yet...im going later this year too on my honeymoon, but being on this forum regularly it gets exellent reviews and is always highly praised. Have a look at it on here I think it is number9 out of all the hotels on samui or at least it was last time I saw it...good luch and have an amazing honeymoon:)!
Tongsai would be my choice by a long way, the two cheapies are in Chaweng which is chaos!!
Tongsai is a 10-15 minute cab ride away at Choeng Mon and is paradise. We are returning there for our third visit in August.
The staff are lovely and they have their own private beach so you can really relax without being hassled by beach vendors.
You are also closer to Bophut Fishermans Village which is a good place for a night out if you prefer it a bit quiter.
Hope this helps
Regards
Robert
We have stayed at the Amari Palm Reef the previous 2 years, and are staying again in this year, perfect hotel and location. Would recommend the newer rooms across the road, not beachside.
Book direct through Amari, and the rate is 拢30pp/pn
Imperial Samui is not a cheapy by along shot its one of the best hotels i%26#39;ve stayed in and we always stay in 4-5 star hotels across the world.Depends what you want to spend.Do you want to be paying it off for months when you get home.It%26#39;s personall choice.IT IS NOT IN CHAWENG SO IT IS NOT BUSY.It is in Chaweng Noi which is a 5 min drive away.Far enough away but close enough if you want a choice of bars and places to eat.Trust me this hotel is not overly busy.
Just returned from the Amari today (second visit in 2 months) Yes book direct with the Amari (Ms Preeyaporn)
Amari is far enough away from the bustle of central Chaweng but close enough to enjoy the nightlife / restaurants/ beach scene etc if you can understand.
No problem strongly recommending the Amari.
I have stayed at both the Imperial and the Amari and now will only stay at the Amari and have done for the last 5 years! I would certainly not call either of them budget hotels!
The Imperial is on the road to Lamai just out of Chaweng, and I really dont think its possible to walk into Chaweng of an evening from there, its downhill on the way but uphill on the way home!!! There is nothing much outside the hotel. whilst its a nice hotel with good breakfast and beautiful gardens and certainly a nicer beach than the Amari, the Amari is second to none for the standard of rooms, the friendly staff, the two lovely pools (one quieter, one noiser) the breakfast is amazing, and its just the best! (can you tell I like it!!) we are off there in 6 weeks again and cant wait. It is nearer Chaweng but at the quiet end of the street so its 5 mins to walk to shops.
But its your honeymoon, maybe it might be worth spending a bit more on the more expesive options, but not having been there, cannot offer any advice Im afraid!
Go for the Amari! If you tell them its your honeymoon they will treat you like kings!
hope that helps x
