Weather in April...sigh

I know this has probably been answered many times before, but we are arriving at Sheraton on 21st April, and are desperate for sunshine (we live in uk!!) - some guides say rainy at this time of year, some say sunny until May then a bit rainy - whats the truth?? Will we have some sun on our lily white skin at end April?? :-)

Please give me some good news x

Weather in April...sigh

Hi,

We fly out on Friday night this week, and have been to Phuket numerous times, I have been checking the webcam daily in Phuket and it%26#39;s been quite nice looked a bit cloudy today but apart from that it%26#39;s been sunny, I read on here a few days ago this April has been hotter than last year so should be fine.

Have a great trip.

Weather in April...sigh

nobody can predict the weather accurately, however, you should have no problem - maybe isolated showers, you should see plenty of sun

thanks and have a great time!

Thanks for replies...feel less worried now! ;-)

looking at the recent forcasts I thought it had been quite wet lately, Krabi has and it is not that far away, maybe I am wrong but we were in Krabi at the end of Feb and the weather was unusually wet and nothing seems to have changed since then.

mmh..hope this aint the case as we are there from 12th April for 2 weeks! nyone else have updates on current weather conditions? Some of the sites say rain, sun, thunder, wind and just about every thing else you can imagine!!!!

im with KJD!!! Suppose we take what comes - first holiday on our own for 18 years - but a bit of hot sunshine would be nice too!! ;-)

You%26#39;ll get more sun than you wish for -a banker at this time of year anywhere in thailand. And it is particularly hot this year so far. 41 c today in bangkok - sound hot enough?

Phuket experiences 300 days of rain per year according to averages from the local weather service. But it also has 330 days of sunshine. They say here, ';If you don%26#39;t like the weather just wait -- five minutes -- it will change.'; That%26#39;s not always true. During rainy season you may experience truly biblical periods of wet. But this is the hot season; and five minutes of rain -- which is all you%26#39;re likely to get -- is nothing to regret. It freshens things up and keeps Sheraton%26#39;s landscaping green.

So don%26#39;t worry. You%26#39;ll get more sun on your lily white skin than a cat on a hot tin roof.

Hi there Triman,

We were in Phuket last April/May and had only ';minor'; rain storms and masses and masses of sun. We had many hours of glorious sun to languish by the pool every single day (16 in total). Yes, when it did rain, it poured, thunder/lightning etc, quite something to see when you live in drought stricken Australia, but it never once affected our trip. The storms were short lived and they actually tempered the heat of the evening. I remember one morning when we had a huge early storm that teemed like a Darwin cyclone, we thought our plans to go to Krabi via boat were doomed but it cleared to be the most magnificent day in under an hour! Yes, we had the occasional downpour in the early evening but they were so short lived that it never stopped us from venturing out and about and enjoying our nights. The street vendors would, quick as lightning, have their stalls wrapped in plastic, and then would be back, open for business just as quickly.

Hope you enjoy your time and the weather treats you kindly,

Cjay

Thanks to everyone who has replied! You have been really helpful, and counting the days now!!!
