Mbk Mall

How far is the MBK mall from the Millenium Hilton Hotel?

Mbk Mall

Not too far, if you cross the river using the hotel%26#39;s shuttle and then take the BTS/Skytrain to its terminus, National Stadium. Maybe about half an hour all told. MBK is directly off the walkway from the BTS station, through the Tokuyu Department Store.

Thanks Hun..

Just returned from the Mall. Spend 8 hrs shopping. Left with 17 shopping bags of deals.

!!!

wow....what shops are there in this mall? clothes? big brands? reasonable prices?

It%26#39;s not a brand name mall for the most part. It has a rather interesting department store, Tokuyu, and the more conventional shops in the outer areas near the escalators tend to be Thai businesses with mid-scale Thai goods, not international brands. Then, on the 3rd floor at the far end is a big area with silly t-shirts at bargain prices and tourist souvenir, arts and crafts stuff. Behind that is a large area of aisles and rows with stands selling all sorts of bargain clothes, from stylish men%26#39;s and women%26#39;s wear to Thai university uniforms. It%26#39;s called ';Image.'; There are even (knock off? overruns?) very authentic-looking winter gear from the likes of North Face and Columbia. Other areas of MBK have luggage and bags, cheap and good print-while-you-wait shops, gold jewelry, some excellent camera stores (Fotofile!). The 4th floor is a whole maze of cut-rate cell phone and electronics shops. There%26#39;s a food court, a very good restaurant on the 5th floor, numerous eateries, a huge video game area on the 6th floor, a movie multiplex etc. etc. Visiting MBK is a trip in itself. It%26#39;s very loud, brash and crowded. Great people watching.

MBK is really huge! Movie theaters, supermarkets, lots food courts, small shops, big stores - lots of stuff!

When you arrive try to remember where you entered the store from. You almost need a compass to find your way back to where you first entered the place.

Maybe it is a little too big!

Have fun.

MKB is a shopper%26#39;s paradise. Things are cheap and of good quality.

Also, remember, to bargin.

Have fun.

Get those suitcases loaded with goodies.

Also, visit the foods court. The eats are good and cheap.

Make sure all try sticky rice.

One note:

most of the items here are fakes; they are great and cheap.

Good quality fakes.

Also, lots of CD and DVD%26#39;s -- at cheap prices.

Shop until you drop and support the Thai people.

It%26#39;s not all fakes, though. The camera stores I mentioned do not carry fakes. And, in my opionion, the best bargains in clothing are not the fake (or possibly prodution overrun) branded goods, but the non-brand-name quality merchandise from Thai manufacturers, priced to sell on the Thai market. Also there are at least a couple brand-name stores there which are not fake: Camel and Timberland.
