sofitel or putahracsa?

Hi,

My husband and I are travelling to Bangkok in August for 8 days and are thinking of heading down to Hua Hin for a few days?

Just wondering if any one could comment on these hotels- we want a private pool but would also like to be within walking distant to town

Also- would 4 nights be too much in Hua Hin- we are not really lie on the beach people but love to eat and drink and basically relax in a cultural setting.

Just returned from my second stay at Sofitel, it%26#39;s fantastic! If you look at my profile page there%26#39;s a link to my review, including photos.

There%26#39;s a choice of 3 pools and the nearest bars/restaurants/shops are less than 2 minutes walk.

The private pool villas are great. BUT they are severly overlooked by the multi storey Hilton Hotel next door!

Just my thoughts we have booked a Premium Deluxe Villa in June for 3 nights, we are the same not lie on the beach people at all, but definately keen on the villa. We have specifically requested one that is not overlooked by the Hilton and they have said that that will be fine.

There was another post here from someone else that stayed at the Sofitel and they also made sure they got one not overlooked by the Hilton and they loved it.

I booked mine through their direct website too, it seemed to be the cheapest way to go.

We can%26#39;t wait.

They are indeed lovely properties and you will love the villas and also the antique ambience of the Old Railway Sofitel next door.
