I am travelling to Hua Hin in June with my wife and we are trying to work out the best way of transferring from Bangkok to the resort we are staying at.
Any suggestions?
What's teh Best way to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin?
You can get to Hua Hin by plane, bus, train, taxi or private transfer.
It takes approximately 3 hours by road, 40 minutes by air and 3 - 4 hours by train.
Most convenient of course is taxi or private transfer as it would be door to door and cost between 1500 to 2000 baht. Can be arranged direct from International Airport too.
Train may be aircon or non aircon, and tickets need to be booked in advance if you need definite arrival times. Departures several a day.
Plane is the most expensive ?3000 approx baht each, and necessitating time wasting at the airport and of course, taxi either end.
I go for private transfer in insured vehicle and recommend Mr Roong. Contact, roongsayam@hotmail.com
There are many recomendations, if you do a search on this forum - type in travel to hua hin.

i would actaullay budget 2500-3500B for a private car or minivan transfer, especially if coming from the airport.. costs have risen here quite sharply in the last year. plus travel time can vary depending on what day you leave, what time you leave and any road works on the way (which there are at the moment), allocate at least 4 hrs.
i%26#39;ve taken the train manytimes to Hua Hin and never had to book. with several departures per day there are plenty of seats available.

Thanks BKK - prices rising, eh? I live here!
We are also travelling to Hua Hin from Bangkok in June. We have booked Mr Roong and it is costing us 2000baht each way, I think quite reasonable considering how long the travel is. We are staying at the Sofitel, where have you booked?
We have just returned from Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.
After flying into Bangkok from Luang Prabang we taxied to the Southern Bus Terminal (the only way basically) 615 bahts, and picked up bus to Hua Hin - they go every 30 minutes or so cost 166 bahts and takes 3 hours. They will drop you off at the centre of town and a 5 minute tuk tuk will take you to most of the hotels. You can do the whole trip from N.Laos in a day. Alternatively you can take the dearer option and fly less than a hour - airport locally. We really recommend a brand new hotel next to the Sofitel - Baan Laksasubha, they will give you a good deal for a week, and it is on the best stretch of beach. Hope this is helpful.
We always use a private driver to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin, it costs 1500Baht for a car, it costs more if you want a minivan. Wouldn%26#39;t pay more than 2000.
