For our Songkran vacations my family is looking for a decent accommodation in Chiang Mai, a place overlooking the river and somewhere near the night bazar... Budget can be around 1500 THB per night. Any suggestions?

We are also hoping to spend one night at the Royal Agricultural Research Centre at Mae Jon Luang. Wondering if it is worth it? Suggestions solicited...

Galare Guesthouse and River View Lodge are both right by the river and a short walk from the night bazaar.

Good luck, finding rooms in Chiang Mai for Songkran at this late date can be challenging.

Staying at the River View Lodge at the moment. It is a wonderful place and would be perfect for Songkran. Booking it isn%26#39;t that straightforward. Send a fax using the form on their website and then ring to check receipt.

Thanks for the replies... haven%26#39;t heard anything as yet about the Royal agricultrual centre in Mae Jon Luang.... Wonder if it is not a frequently visited place!!!
