British Airways - any feedback?

We are flying British Airways from BKK to SYD, just wondering if anyone has flown them before and if there is any good recommendations on seat numbers? I have been reading reviews of the internet and I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ve come across one good review, we are flying a 747.

I think the problem is comparing B.A. or most european carriers to the far east carriers. In my opinion airlines such as Thai, Singapore etc.. are way ahead for service comfort in economy class. Having said that I consider B.A. to be good all round airline. Leaving aside the new terminal debacle at Heathrow, which you have probably read about. I would say they are reliable, safe and reasonable service. My first choice to BKK would be Thai airways or the middle east airlines followed by B.A. and last other european airlines.

For seating check out www.seatguru.com

I have just returned on BA and they are as good if not better than any other carrier. Security is very tight at BKK and this may upset some pax.

With a 3/4/3 configuration, it depends on your preference for aisle or window.

Dress smart casual and ask for an ungrade.

Be nice at check in at the desk, and say ';I wondered if there were any seats left available further forward in the plane?'; If they are going to be nice / and there are seats still available / and they like the look of you...then they might tell you to ask at the gate, or if there are so many seats left they may just give you one (a seat that is).

Always worth trying.

Also sometimes worth checking the prices of World Traveller Plus as we have found these can sometimes be cheaper than Economy!

Having just flown Emirates for the first time to Singapore I would fly BA every time and that was in Business class so god knows what economy was like. We have done this route with BA and Singapore Airlines in Economy and there really wasn%26#39;t any difference only that Singapore Airlines have entertainment on demand. Just don%26#39;t risk Emirates whatever you do.

we have flown B.A.london-toronto, worst flight ever

they are now my last choice of airline, food very bland and not very plesant crew on our flight.

they just did%26#39;nt seem interested in anything after they had done the meal service.made you feel guilty just asking for a glass of water.

we have flown manchester-bangkok with emirates and they were great, only downside is not direct flight so that always adds on the extra hours,

so for us there is only one choice and thats the drive down to heathrow to catch thai airways ,direct flight,

great leg room ,good food and lovely crew , no seat back tv%26#39;s which is a pity when you fly with kids, but we just take our own portable dvd player .
