How far is it from Indra Regent to MBK?

Could anyone tell me how far it is from the Indra Regent Hotel to MBK, Central World and Paragon?

Do you need a taxi or is it in walking distance?

Thanks

How far is it from Indra Regent to MBK?

Hi

We stayed at the Indra and it took us about 15-20mins to walk to Central World. Paragon is only around the corner; another 5 mins walk.

I know MBK is further but have not walked there from the Indra. Maybe 30 mins - maybe others can give their input.

Also, depends on time of day you decide to %26#39;walk%26#39; it as in the evenings, the pavements are chocker block full of pedestrians and diners, stalls etc.

Certainly doable if you don%26#39;t mind the exercise.

Once you get to Central World, you can walk onto the Chitlom BTS station and take the skytrain to the National Stadium station, where you walk into MBK, or from Paragon you can just use the walkway from the Siam Square station and walk to MBK.

it%26#39;s do-able walking distance but very tiring one, I would say.

Yes going to Central World or just paragon mall may be okay in the evening like above said, but not in hot, polluted, daytime.

Taxi better, less than 2 AUD. 10-20 mins, depending on traffic.

Thanks so much everyone

Suzie

From Indra Regent hotel/Indra Square, cross the road and there is a bus stop almost opposite. Get a 73 or 204 air conditioned bus from there and MBK is just 4 stops away (the buses stop just past there, and continue on to Chinatown).

As to a taxi, they are not allowed along that section of the road outside Indra Square, going towards Central World so it would have to take a long way around to get to MBK.

People tend not to walk too far in Bangkok because of the heat, and pavements for various reasons are like an obstacle course.

Don%26#39;t miss out on the Pratunam Centre which is five minutes walk (turn right) from Indra Square. Central World is another five minutes walk on the other side of the road, or Big C mall on the same side of the road. Also the Platinum Mall and Pantip Plaza five minutes walk along Petchburi.

Nearest post office should you need one is about ten minutes walk. Turn left from Indra Square, across railway line (Makkasan), and it%26#39;s only a little way past the flyover and on the other side of the road.

Distance: About 1.2 Km. Certainly within walking distance if you aren%26#39;t a geriatric. Can either go past Central World then turn right, past Siam Square etc then is diagonally opposite at next major intersection, or turn right at Amari, past Platinum, Pantip Plaza, turn left when you get to the Skytrain, on your right diagonally at next major intersection. Same distance either way, 2nd route is probably less congested on the footpaths. Remember, walk on the right !!!!

Thanks again to you all, the information is so helpful. I can hardly wait three weeks today I will be shopping shopping shopping.

suzie, here%26#39;s a map that might put the distances/locations in perspective: www.centralworld.co.th/contactus_map.php I was suggesting that you walk INTO Central World Plaza, browse in air conditioned comfort till you reach the southern end, and up on the 3rd floor is the walkway onto the bts platform. Take the skytrain [in a/c comfort] to Paragon/Siam Discovery Plaza for more shopping, and then take the bts elevated walkway to MBK. Once you reach Central World, all of this avoids street pavements/congestion and is shaded all the way. Of course you can do this in reverse order if you happen to start at MBK. Have fun!

Hi Bkkresident.

Thank you so so much for the map and all the information it all makes sense to me now and having the map makes it easy to see how it is all set out.

Cant wait ........ 18 days.
