boat hire

hi -

it%26#39;ll be my first time to thailand in october and i was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions (it would be really appriciated)-

were not that into touristy places (although im sure we%26#39;ll do our fair share of nice resorts/drinking/going out in koh samui etc) and were hoping to find a couple of really basic small secluded bungalows/huts on the islands. im not even that concerned if they have power/water or not (as long as theres cold beer in walking distance). any suggestions?

also does anyone know if its possible to hire a smallish boat for a couple of days (drive yourself) to get around the islands and go surfing? (and if so, roughly how much $?)

thankyou so much - sorry if these questions sound slightly stupid! :p

Hi, noticed no-one has replied to you yet, and your first post too ;-(

If you want basic bungalows with no frills and not in the real tourist bit I%26#39;m going to let you in on a secret place (maybe not so secret after this post!! ;-) It%26#39;s called Morning Glory, about 10 beach bungalows in Mae Nam, really tucked away, word of mouth kind of place, I%26#39;m getting married there in May, can%26#39;t wait!!
