traveling alone

Hello All,

I am thinking of traveling to Koh Tao and some other areas alone this may and june. I will have a friend in Koh Tao, but he is a dive instructor and busy. I am 50 years old and wondering if I will meet people to hang out with, or is it mostly young partying divers? What about other islands in area and traveling alone to the rest of the country? What are your thoughts on this. I like to hike, paint, take yoga classes. thanks DD

Hi, there will be lots on Koh Tao to keep you occupied, there are a couple of resorts on the south that offer yoga etc, there is also an amazing spa that over looks shark point called Jimakiree, you could easily spend a day there being pampered and relaxing for about $50. There are a lot of young folks at the dive centres but equally there are older folks too!Rent a quad bike or a scotter and have an explore.

There would be a whole wealth of scenes to paint, and there is an elephant trek, (not very long) but amazing.

Shark point, if you swim out at about 1-2pm you will see a few shark families (non biters of course). If you need any other info please message me as I don%26#39;t come on the forum very often

Thanks

It would be a good traveling experience to see the contrast of the beaches in the south and the mountains/valleys, waterfalls and lush jungles in the north. More so, you like to hike and paint. At the same time you can intimately learn the local customs and taste the home cooked food by living with them as part of the family. PM me if you need more advice. Pls to assist.
