Songkran

We will be in Patong for Songkran for the first time this year. Can anyone tell me what impact this will have on our ability to get out end enjoy ourselves???

Songkran

Songkran IS about getting out and enjoying yourself. It%26#39;s Thailand%26#39;s largest party - and I%26#39;ll be missing out again. : (

Songkran

thanks for the info

You just have to be prepared to get wet, but if you are really worried about it, you could always just get into a car from your hotel and get out of the main areas.

The water can be quite powerful if hoses are used, but I hear there is a crackdown on people using high pressure hoses.

I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a fantastic day!

There are quite a few posts on this, do a search and you%26#39;ll get keeps of info, here%26#39;s a more recent one

We will be there as well, it will be our 3rd time for Songkran. We all love it, it%26#39;s fantastic. Make sure you buy water pistols so you can join in the fun. You can walk up the main beach road and go up Bangla Road, there are lots of people there.

Joyful Songkran festival

Due to our hot politic, this April seems to be hotter than last year. Luckily, the pleasant Songkran festival comes to alleviate our hot situation.

There are three days for this festival :

First day is called Songkran day, the last day of the year. People will clean their home to welcome the coming new year.

Second day is Wan Nao. People will bathe the Buddha image and all children will Rod-nam-dum-hua (pour water on the hands of revered elders and ask for blessing) their parents. Furthermore, they believed that saying the rough word on that day will bring the bad luck.

I hope this information helping, and you will enjoy with Date Surely!!!! Don%26#39;t Miss!!!!!

That%26#39;s interesting, thanks for that. What is the 3rd day called and what happens on that day?
