The Demon and The Blue Angel

Whilst in Khao Lak if you visit the Tsunami Memorial at Baan Nam Kem, about half an hour drive north of Khao Lak (see photos at khaolaklovers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=224 ) or go across to nearby Koh Kho Khao (see photos at http://photos.orange.co.uk/album/5357439 )

try to pay a visit to another poignant reminder of the Tsunami. These are the fishing boats Krisana Sakorn, The Blue Angel, and Sri Samut, The Demon. The site is tucked away just off the main road on your left as you approach the pier for the ferry to KKK. This is where they both finished up after being taken here by the wave on very different journeys with very different but, in the end, heartening conclusions.

Have a look at khaolaklovers.com/forum/viewtopic.php… for some photos together with the tale of each vessel%26#39;s amazing journey.

The Demon and The Blue Angel

Hello Alan,

Had a look at all the pic%26#39;s and will most surely be going to see the Memorial site and the Blue Angel and the Demon. So sad, but lovely how the Thai people have moved on both spiritually and physically. My heart cries out to them.

Your pic # 15 and 17 - that chair look as if you have reserved it for me !! and pic # 28 + 29 of the hand carved table and chairs - absolutely beautiful.

# 26 - is that a church?

I told Steve that I am going to be like an American or Japanese tourist when it comes to taking photy%26#39;s. I am a real ';happy-snappy'; and will let you see all my pic%26#39;s on my return.

Thank you again for sharing your holiday with us and I look forward to getting an email telling me more.

We have 6 weeks to go and I am now getting very anxious for the time to fly by.

Bye for now Mr + Mrs Arandora xx

The Demon and The Blue Angel

Hi Jill,

Thanks for your support.

That%26#39;s our chair. Please keep it warm for when we return. However, you may get too warm in the ';church'; as it is actually a local crematorium!!! Oops!
