Anyone know anything about getting to see the turtles released. All I know is that it may have something to do with the Marriot hotel.

There are numerous turtle releases in the area this time of year. Last Friday was a major event on Bang Tao Beach in front of the Sheraton. A couple weeks ago was a major festival in Thai Muang - just up the road on the mainland - a weeklong turtle festival March 6-15.

Yes, the Mai Khao MAarine Turtle Foundation does turtle releases on or just after Songkran (around 12th/13th April each year), and the Marriott sponsors, funds and supports the foundation, and the Marriott GM gets personally involved. They also look after the beach and get involved in other local and worthwhile projects.
