Siam @ Siam Design Hotel - Good Location?

I was thinking about staying at the Siam @ Siam Design Hotel in Bangkok for 4 nights. I%26#39;ve read the reviews and looked at pictures and it looks nice, I was wondering though if the location is good in terms of shopping, eating and tourist attractions? Are the shops in the Siam area worthwhile? Also my partner tends to only like ';western'; type foods for some reason, is there enough dining options in this area without having to eat McDonalds etc?

Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks

Its OK but maybe a fraction further away from the skytrain and shops than you might want.

For eating, MBK, Siam Center, Siam Paragon, Central World have all types for eastern and western food. There are also alot of restaurants of all types in Siam Square, which sits on the other side of the Siam skytrain station from Siam Center/Paragon.

BMK is down market; Tokyu department store in the same building is low-to-mid market; Siam Paragon is definately top end. The skytrain can take you to Central%26#39;s Chidlom branch (a big dept store group) where you can often pick up good quality products at reasonable prices. You can also visit the weekend market (Morchit Stn) at Chauchak by skytrain. Also Central World (use the skywalk from Siam) is Asia%26#39;s largest shopping mall.

AmerieManchester - I%26#39;ll be in Bangkok in August, so any details from your June trip would be fantastic. Thaks

will do i shall let u know get back from our trip 26th june.

I stayed at the Siam @ Siam Design hotel a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The actual hotel is beautiful, fantastic pool, great decor and service is A1.

It was an easy walk (5-10mins) to MBK %26amp; Siam Center shopping area. there are heaps of food options around in those shopping malls. The shops range is great - we loved the range of brands in Siam Center and MBK is more like a massive market in a mall.

To get to other areas of the city you can just jump in a taxi or go on the skytrain.

I thoroughly recommend Siam @ Siam!
