Review on Holiday Inn Silom Bangkok and Diamond Cliff...

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn Silom Bangkok and the Diamond Cliff Resort %26amp; Spa Phuket?

I have booked to stay at both and cannot find any reviews except for one or two on either.

I have received good rates, the travel agent recommended them however I am rather concerned as I haven%26#39;t read anything positive about them except that they are in fairly good locations.

Thanks

Review on Holiday Inn Silom Bangkok and Diamond Cliff...

Hi

I have had some guests that have stayed at holiday inn silom and they didn%26#39;t exactly complain

But do keep in mind that the hotel is undergoing renovations

Location wise it is a good hotel that is walking distance to the BTS

Have had breakfast there and the variety is good

i would pay a little more and stay at the sofitel silom bangkok, this is way closer to the bts, quality is much better, and location is unbeatable.

diamond cliff, as the name says, it%26#39;s on a cliff and unless you like climbing hills i really wouldn%26#39;t stay there. if you want a hotel on the beach in patong, impiana comes to mind. but my choice would be the kata thani hotel, on kata beach.

Thanks for your feed back, I have contacted the Holiday Inn Silom and they will be starting more renovations in a few months so I will try to change to the Sofitel Silom.

You might also try the Pathumwan Princess Hotel (the Princess group is a sub-group of the very nice Dusit group of hotels, I think the website can be found at Google) I don%26#39;t know the current price but I think it should be about the same as Holiday Inn Silom and if you can get a corner room they have beautiful unobstructed views over the city. It is right at the MBK shopping center and the skytrain and near the very pleasnt and tranquil Chulalongkhorn University as well as teh popular tourist areas. Holiday Inn also has a property at the intersection of Rajdamri and Ploenchit, not too far from that, that is nice and connects to the skytrain.

Please advise i am booked in to the Holiday Inn Silom in may, would you advise me to book else were, i am there for four nights, is there alot of disruption going on?

Thanks

I agree with the above comments. the sofitel silom is much much nicer, around the same price and better located than the holiday inn

don%26#39;t know if anyone has replyed to you but I have just come back from Thailand and I stayed at the Holiday inn Silom, found it to be comfortable, if you are in a superior you will be in the old part of the building but it is clean and comfortable, breakfast in fantastic, everything you could imagine.

If you want to go shopping theres a 5 minute walk to the skyrain, and Patpong market in must, you can walk from the hotel.... otherwise there is always friendly tuk tuk and taxi drivers to take you where you want to go

Hope you enjoy your trip I had a ball in Thailand
