Taxi from Bangkok Airport.

Have decided not to book transfers this time to Bangkok

can some one tell me how much we could expect to pay for a taxi to a Hotel near MBK.

Taxi from Bangkok Airport.

250-300 Baht + 50 Baht airport tax for the taxi and + 65 Baht tollway fees

Depends on time of day and day of week as to the time you take

Taxi q is on the same level as arrivals outside door 8

Do not accept offers of taxi withing the arrivals hall or just outside.

make sure you get small bills when you change your money at the exchange. Taxi drivers almost never have no change.

Taxi from Bangkok Airport.

The ';taxi'; service offered in the Arrivals Hall is a very expensive limousine service. Expect to pay 350 baht or so by taxi.

Or go downstairs and pick up a shuttle bus for 150 baht to Pratunam and the MBK area is only minutes from there by taxi (35 baht or so).

The public taxi is now (and has been for many months) on the Arrivals level just outside the doors. Look for the signs for the dispatch desks. The metered fare to MBK-area should be 200 baht or less, plus 50 for airport surcharge and 65 for tolls. So less than 350 in total. You will not need to use the expressway if you%26#39;re arriving late at night. Remember to insist on the meter; don%26#39;t agree to any 400 or 450 baht flat rates.

The 150 baht Airport Express bus is of course a bad deal if you are more than one person, since taxi fare is only about 300 baht, door-to-door.

As usual great advice. Thanks everyone.

Agree with billp2. Should be 200 baht or less to MBK. If you find that you don%26#39;t have any small notes after exchanging currency, use a large note at one of the two toll booths (the first one is 25 baht and the second is 40 baht). Your own personal small change service!

Make sure you don%26#39;t go with the taxi touts who vie for your business as you exit the baggage reclaim! Unfortunately after a long flight I just went with the first person who shouted %26#39;TAXI?%26#39; and ended up paying 900 baht for the pleasure of an un-licensed taxi with no air conditioning ;)

The taxi sign up desk is outside the arrivals hall near the curb. Ignore all of the touts in the arrivals hall. Go through the door to the outside area. There are 2 or 3 taxi sign up desks. Remember to have a good address for your hotel not just a name. Also, remind the taxi sign up person that you want the taxi driver to use the taxi meter. You do get a receipt that you can use to report any problems with the taxi driver.

The fare for a taxi ride is for everyone you can squeeze in safely - not per passenger. This is why if there is more than one person using the taxi the price will be not much more than two people using the slower Airport Express bus. The taxi goes door to door and the Airport Express bus only gets you close to your hotel!

Good luck.

Hi;

I used the Taxi services only after along flight from the LAX to BKK . For a 300baht it is worth

every one of them. I always carry the address of

my hotel in Bangkok to show the driver . You have

to make sure the address in Thai%26#39;s language because

there is not many driver can read English. My case is quite simple since I stay close to Nana soi4

Sukhumvit , every taxi driver in town knows how to get there !
