fly to Bangkok International with Air Asia

Has anyone fly with Air Asia. can someone give me some feedback about the airline.

I heard that the seat not allocated, they always late and also baggage allowance only 15kg? and there is no food.

I am starting to worry about all this.. Any suggestion?

Air Asia is a short-haul budget airline. So they have no reserved seating, and yes, free baggage allowance is 15 kg, and no they are NOT ';always late.'; They don%26#39;t serve any food or beverages for free, but they do sell drinks and snacks on the plane.

Air Asia X is AA%26#39;s new budget long-haul service in which you do have assigned seating, you can pre-order (and pre-pay) full meals and you do not get ANY free baggage allowance, but pre-pay for the amount of baggage you%26#39;re actually carrying.

Pay the small extra charge for Express Boarding. It%26#39;s well worth it. You don%26#39;t get an assigned seat but you board first before the unseemly race by the other passengers starts. Food and drink is available for purchase but not worth it either in price or quality and its only just over an hour%26#39;s flight. Even though we paid excess luggage charges of 1100 baht going out and 1600 baht coming back it was still much cheaper than Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways.

I agree with the previous post. Air Asia was fine when we flew with them in January. They were late each flight but I%26#39;d sort of planned around that anyway. Yes, you have to buy food if you%26#39;re hungry so take some snacks on board or wait the hour until you arrive. It%26#39;s worth paying the extra couple of $$ to board first and yes, they have a smaller baggage allowance but for the price you pay for a ticket, it%26#39;s hard to complain... We would use them again!

I was 9 kg over and had to pay 550 baht and it is more like greyhound but cheap none the less so....

Thank you everyone...

my flight would be 4 hours from Indonesia to Bangkok.

I am sure I can cope with that....

I didn%26#39;t tick the express boarding when booked the ticket. Can I still have the express boarding and pay them at the check in counter? Or am I too late for this?

and also how do I know that mine air asia or air asia x

Not to sure about the express boarding part, but Air Asia X only flies KL to Gold Coast in Australia at the moment, so you would be flying normal Air Asia.

Hi! I always fly with Air Asia for short distance.

If you do not wish to have any delay for the flight, please pick up the first flight in the day coz normally the first flight will be 99% punctual.

You can pay extra RM 10 for the express boarding. There is quota for the express boarding so you no need to worry about everyone will pay and get in first...

Actually, it is only 2 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok. If you are prepared to sleep in the flight once you are boarding, my advice to you is choose Air Asia will be much cheaper.. You can save the extra money and spend it at Bangkok for more Thai Massage or shopping...
