Help! Info overload. Family holiday in may.

Family (me huby kids aged 4 and 3) are going to singapore 15th may - 30th may to see friends, as we have so much time we wanted to combine the trip with a beach/culture/softadventure break. We have been advised to go to phuket, and after toooooooo much research i agree....but then i looked at the weather and am so confused about the weather in may. we are only going for a midweek 4 day break 19th may, as our friends back in singapore want us to be back for the weekends to spend time with them.

Please advise on weather and what to do, easiet way to get there with kids....or if infact we should go to malaysia instead!

Hi, we went last year and the weather was hot. You may get an occassional downpour but it didn%26#39;t last long and was still hot.

We had kids 10 months, 6 and 8 and there is heaps of things to do. Depends what you are interested in seeing / doing. If wanting to find things to do for kids have a look at asiawebdirect and go to Phuket section. They have a section on things to do with kids....

hope this helps

thanks di u go in may? where did u stay? and did u go to the fantesea show?

Dont miss the Fantasea show, the kids will love it.

I believe the sea currents change at the end of april in Phuket so you may not do much swimming at the beach as its too dangerous. But hey theres always the pool at the hotel.

Hi if u type in Fantasia in the search part it will bring up recent threads about this ';show';- including the ';show of animal cruelty'; one recent tourist stumbled apon going on out the back.

Of course it%26#39;s your choice, there are other expereinces to enjoy with kids in tow, we did Koh Chang Elephants, just outside of Kata with very small children.

thanks guys this really helps.

Final question...i think....where us best to stay? I%26#39;m looking at the laguna beach reasort in bang tao bay.

have also been reading in forums about holiday inn patang....but i don%26#39;t know if that area is suitable for the kids and a chill out holiday

Hi,

For such a short time the Holiday Inn will be perfect for you.

Even though it%26#39;s in Patong , once you enter their grounds you have peace. They have an excellent kid%26#39;s club and great facilities for children.

Walking distance to good restaurants and the beach is across the road.

Have a look at the HI web sight.

We flew Singapore to Phuket in May last year with Tiger, we booked on the internet , very cheap, and everything went well!! It%26#39; only about an hour and a bit flight, I think.

Cheers Lindy.

Hi,

we actually went in June and it hardly rained in Phuket. Bangkok had more rain but it does not really affect anything.

Yes we went to Fantasea and thought it was worth going. Sort of thing you either like or don%26#39;t but won%26#39;t know unless you do it yourself! We will be going again in May this year.

Lots of things to see/do there besides show so we are going as soon as park opens. Kids will love the thousands of coloured fish that are in the river wanting to be fed.

If you have the money the Holiday Inn gets great reviews for a kids hotel. Have a great kids club so kids will enjoy

Hope you have a great holiday

regards
