Ian Koh Chang

Hi Ian, going to Koh Chang in May from Pattaya, which i think the best way is to ask around in travel agents while in Pattaya for a good price?. Also i%26#39;m wanting to know where i can find some info on attractions ect when i get on the island. And any good resturants on White Sand beach would be a help.

Thanks Nathan

Hi Nathan, from Pattaya - Koh Chang by minibus figure on paying around 550 - 700 baht depending on whether you want the minibus to drop you off at your hotel on KC or at the ferry pier and you can hop on a pick up truck taxi to the hotel.

For hotels,tour agents in Pattaya should have some good deals in May as low season rates will apply at many hotels.

There are few free printed guides to Koh Chang, of varying quality, but all have with maps and info on activities, places to eat %26amp; drink etc. You should be able to pick these up from tour agents in Pattaya - if not then your hotel or any tour agent on KC will have them.

On Whitesands - 15 Palms is a nice beach bar/restaurant, Cookies does good seafood BBQ for a reasonable price. Also on the beach Bamboo Restaurant has pretty good Italian food %26amp; Thai %26amp; seafood. For a quiet drink %26amp; snack,Tapas Bar,a small beach bar,midway along the beach near Tantawan bungalows is a very nice spot. On the roadside, try Buffalo Bill%26#39;s or Oodies if you need a steak or western food.

We loved as Ian has said the Bamboo restaurant, as the restaurant is set up on the sand and you could then watch all of the different fire twirling displays, figure on a meal cost of 3 mains, entre, 3 heinekens and 2 bourbons of 470 baht.

In regards to the other place mentioned called Oodies, great live blues from about 9.30pm and as on of the divers said at Phuket-Scuba-Club

%26#39;%26#39; if you haven%26#39;t been to Oodies then you have not been to Koh Chang %26#39;%26#39;

Regards

Thanks Ian, info great help.

Probably get a minibus all the way, sounds much easier.

Also it%26#39;s always good to have a few recommended restaurants.

Thanks also to radnorAustralia

Best Regards

Nathan
