Yao Yai resort

Hi Lee,we are due to visit Koh Yao from the 9th sept till the 16th.We are staying at Paradise Koh Yao which is on the smaller Yai island, but are planning on exploring both islands. If we visit this resort, will be sure to post a reply on our return.

Sorry,Paradise resort on Koh Yao Noi..(too many beers)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for replys.

Andy, it%26#39;s on the larger of the two, (although less developed) Yao Islands, off the east coast of Phuket. I think they fall into the Phang Na Bay area.

Yao Noi has more accommodation, but I can%26#39;t seem to find any info on Yao Yai Resort other than their web site, (which of course, makes it sound beautiful).

We are looking for an alternative to staying at Phi Phi.

Tiffin, would you mind doing a post/review on Paradise resort upon your return?

Thanks again

Lee

Hi again Sunset...of course,no problem.

I am going to this place in Jan so will post a report. Only other infor I have found is at travelfish......

Hi Bjornerud

Thanks very much for the info.

I haven%26#39;t found any other info myself, so I will be really keen on hearing how your stay was.

We are considering the beachfront bungalows if we stay there, it looks so relaxed and serene.

Hi Sunsets4us,

Yes, it is the bigger on the 2 Yao islands and to the south (Yai meaning big in Thai) and least developed. The Yai islands are between Phuket and Krabi in Phang Nga Bay.We cruise past it most days.

It is mostly a Muslim fishing island at the moment, I%26#39;m not sure if there are many beaches there but Geoff and I plan to explore it in the low season. So there won%26#39;t be many shops, restaurant and maybe not so many bars (being Muslim). But it will be quite.

I believe Island Hopper has a base there and stops for lunch there on their way back from Phi Phi - maybe someone who has been out with them could give you better feedback.

Jenny
