Does anyone know if there are direct flights to avoid a stop in Bangkok?

Flying from Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai to Hong-Kong
On our last trip to Thailand, (2 years ago) we flew with Cathay Pacific out of Vancouver, BC to Hong Kong. We then transfered to China Air %26amp; flew directly to Chiang Mai. This was a real time-saver for us.
