Power Adaptors

I know there is a lot of info on TA re this topic but it is getting a bit confusing.

I visited Kathmandu this morning and was advised that the European adaptor was the way to go - this seems contradictory to other advice om the forum.

Help!!!!! All advice cheerfully and thankfully accepted.
