pattaya and shopping

I am planning to visit the area with my 13 y old daughter and stay at the Sunset Park resort out of Pattaya.

First I wonder is there is any taxi or transport for this resort which seems isolated ? Also is Pattaya worth the trip for shopping ?

Thanks for your advices ! Sandra

The largest Mall are Royal Garden Plaza, The Avenue, Central Festival Center and Mike Mall, try also market in south Pattaya road or in second road. But in fact all city offer possibility to buy something. Sunset Park is a lovely place with nice beach but really isolated.

which hotel would you recommend ?

On same area and same group Sunset village offer nice beach and lovely bungalows also 2 nice pools. On Jomtien Rabbit resort is a must right on the beach, on the Hill Sugar hut offer real thai bungalows,Birds and bees, formerly Cabbages and condoms is lovely, in the city Amari Orchid offer quality and large garden and in Naklua the Zign is very beautiful.

You are out in the sticks a bit with the Sunset Park Resort! Because you have a kid with you many of the better choices in Pattaya City (location wise) for hotels have too many bars nearby .

A hotel in North Pattaya may make the city more accessible. The transportation would be a little cheaper and easier to get. This is the area close to the Naklua Road area. No beach type swimming at Pattaya - swimming is okay for Jomtien where the Sunset Park is and okay for some of the hotels in the Naklua area. Even cheaper hotels in the 800 - 1000 baht range have pools to use.

Pattaya is worth a look. Local baht bus transportation is only 10 baht (when you wave a moving baht bus down just hop on, push button to get the truck to stop, pay 10 baht!)

Three movie theaters in town showing current films. Amusement arcade at the Royal Garden Mall which includes a movie theater plus a Ripley%26#39;s Museum exhibit.

Good luck.

Try the Marriott Resort %26amp; Spa. Great for kids %26amp; right in the middle of the shopping

Your shoppping options are vast. As mentioned there are the main malls - the central one opens I think not for another year or so ( advertised as the largest beach front mall in thailand) - and there are the small markets dotted about everywhere ( the made in thailand market on second road aopposite the big view talay condo is maybe the cheapest) and naklua sunday market even cheaper ( i recently bought some mens golf shorts there for b99, costing b250 or more in pattaya)

the naklua market is good - there%26#39;s a great mom and pop eatery there where they do a scorching panang moo and beer for about 25 baht.

Soi bakao market, just off second road is really good too. Can%26#39;t remember the days offhand but any of the hotel people will knoww.
